YouTube Music’s latest feature allows users to create custom radio stations

YouTube Music is introducing a new radio experience that allows users to create their own custom stations, the company told AapkaDost on Tuesday. Prior to the launch of this feature, users started listening to music by choosing from pre-existing playlists, radios or albums, but now users can create their own radios from scratch.

This new experience allows you to choose up to 30 artists when creating your own radio station. You can also choose how often these artists appear and apply filters that change the mood of the station. The experience lets you choose whether you want the radio to feature only the artists you’ve selected or if you also want content from a wider range of similar artists. There is also the option to further refine your results by using specific filters such as ‘new discoveries’ or ‘chill numbers’.

Popular music streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music offer radio features that allow users to create playlists based on a specific song or artist, but offer no additional customization beyond that. YouTube Music’s redesigned radio experience gives users much more flexibility than its competitors.

“With this new radio functionality, we’re turning that model on its head, allowing users to create their own radios from scratch by combining key music building blocks such as artists and commonly used music descriptions,” the company said in an email. . “The result gives users much more control over their listening experiences and allows them to share their music in many ways that aren’t currently available to them, on YouTube Music or any music service really.”

To access the feature, you’ll need to navigate to the YouTube Music homepage and scroll down until you see “Your Music Tuner.” The new experience is rolling out on iOS and Android in all countries where YouTube Music is available for both free and paid users.
