Twitter timeline is broken for multiple users

Usually the best way they know if a service is down is to check Twitter. But this time we can’t really do anything because Twitter itself is in trouble. Multiple people, including those from AapkaDost staff, reported that many parts of the social network are broken for them, including the following timeline. The algorithmic “For You” feed shows older tweets.

Thousands of people have reported that Twitter is inaccessible, both on mobile and desktop, on Downdetector.com, a service that tracks outages through crowdsourced reports.

Some parts of Twitter, such as notifications and lists, work just fine. And if you post a tweet, it will appear in these lists. Right now, the best way to access Twitter is via Tweetdeck lists.

The latest outage comes days after Elon Musk cut more than 200 jobs in the company’s latest round of layoffs. This included Twitter Blue’s head Esther Crawford and newsletter app Revue’s Martijn de Kuijper.

It is not the first time that Twitter has faced problems in recent months. In December, the social network ran into problems and showed users a “rate exceeding limit” error. Later, Musk said the company made “significant changes to the backend server architecture.” Earlier this year, Australian-based users had trouble accessing the service.

In February, Twitter began showing users that they have exceeded their “daily limit.” At the same time, another bug prevented people from following other users.
