If you had trouble accessing iMessage earlier today, you weren’t alone. The tech giant’s support page states that iMessage is fully operational again after some problems. The page previously said “users may not be able to send or download attachments in iMessage.”
According to third-party web monitoring service Downdetector, users also had issues sending and receiving messages. It seems that the problems started around 8:50 AM PDT/11:50 AM EDT.
Apple did not respond to AapkaDost’s request for comment about the issues. It is not known what caused the partial failure. Apple’s other online services, such as iCloud and the App Store, were not affected by today’s outage. However, the company’s support page indicates that some users also experienced issues with Apple’s Photos app. These problems also seem to have been resolved.
Update 5/23/2023 3:00 PM EDT: The article has been updated to indicate that the issues have been resolved.
